What are Core Web Vitals?
Google’s three measures of how a page feels to use: Largest Contentful Paint, how fast the main content appears (good is 2.5 seconds or less); Interaction to Next Paint, how quickly the page responds (good is 200 ms or less); and Cumulative Layout Shift, how much the page jumps (good is 0.1 or less).
Why are my lab scores different from my Core Web Vitals?
Lab scores come from one test on a simulated phone or computer. Core Web Vitals come from real Chrome visitors over 28 days, on their own devices and connections. Use the lab test to find what to fix, and the real-visitor data to see whether it helped.
Do Core Web Vitals affect rankings?
They’re part of the page experience Google considers, one signal among many. Good Core Web Vitals won’t outrank more relevant content, but a slow page loses visitors before they read it.
